Karnataka: Farmer ends life in Hunsur

MYSURU: A 49-year-old farmer ended his life in Uyigowdanahalli, Hunsur taluk committed suicide by way of putting on Tuesday. Inability to settle his debts, which amounted to just about Rs 2 lakh, has been cited as the reason for pushing Jayaramegowda to take the extraordinary step.

The sufferer’s wife Poornima stated that her husband was engaged within the cultivation of banana, cotton and tobacco in Kudineer Muddanahalli, the place he had two acres. “He had borrowed Rs 80,000 from a cooperative financial institution, and an additional Rs 1 lakh from a non-public moneylender. He was unable to harvest a good harvest owing to drought, and was unable to transparent his loans, “ she stated.


Hunsur rural police have registered a case in reference to Jayaramegowda’s loss of life.
