Karnataka raids: 'No MP, MLA, minister targeted'

BENGALURU: The Income Tax department on Thursday stated that no MP or MLA or minister have so far been covered within the ongoing searches achieved through its sleuths in Karnataka.


The remark comes within the wake of Karnataka leader minister HD Kumaraswamy accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of misusing govt equipment and the I-T Department through concentrated on opposition parties and their leaders. The CM was once responding to simultaneous search operations through IT sleuths in opposition to folks in southern Karnataka.


The I-T department, till Thursday night, didn’t establish folks whose houses have been searched.

Responding to any other allegation through the CM that I-T sleuths have been the usage of CRPF staff for the raids, the I-T department stated, “While it's true that CRPF is being used for providing security, the stated Central armed staff have been requisitioned from the State Police (ADGP Law and Order) following commonplace protocol and have no longer been flown in out of doors the state.”
