Kerala government’s 1,000-day ads removed from KSRTC buses

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Amid a stern warning by means of the election fee, the KSRTC management has issued instructions to remove all government commercials from its buses. The means of removal of advertisements started at various KSRTC bus depots on Saturday.


As in step with the fashion code of conduct, “buses of state highway transport company, buses owned by means of municipal company and different government-owned cars shall no longer be used for display of political commercials all the way through the period when the fashion code of conduct is in drive”. Chief electoral officer (CEO) Teeka Ram Meena had issued directive to state district collectors that each one such advertisements should be brought down.


The advertisement on LDF government’s 1000 days in place of business was once affixed on five,000 KSRTC buses for which the company was once paid Rs 1 crore. The ad had leader minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s face and the phrase ‘Onnanu Nammal, Onnamathanu Keralam’ (We are one, Kerala is No. 1). The contract was once to display the advertisements till March 20.


The CEO has also written to leader secretary Tom Jose to remove all references of ministers, politicians and political parties from central or state government websites.


Meanwhile, the cops have also woken up to the election mood. A sensitisation programme for police officers was once convened by means of the state police leader Loknath Behera on Saturday. The meeting was once undertaken with a view to ensure that fool-proof security mechanism when they escort VIPs all the way through elections.
