PATNA: All the parties in Bihar are bracing up for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Forty Lok Sabha seats are up for grabs across Bihar, with the elections being held in seven levels ranging from April 11.
In 2014, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had received 22 seats within the state, whilst the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) had received six. The different seats went to Rashtriya Janata Dal (four), Janata Dal United (2), Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (3), Nationalist Congress Party (1) and Indian National Congress (2).
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JD(U) had lost its deposits in 23 out of the 38 seats within the remaining Lok Sabha elections. The Congress, which was reinforced through a pre-poll alliance with the RJD and the NCP, lost nine out of the 11 seats it had contested but had to forgo deposits in a few seats.
BJP will contest on its image of Lotus flower while Congress might be contesting readily available image. JD(U)'s image is Arrow while RJD's image is Lantern. LJP fights on Hut image and RLSP will struggle on its image of Fan and HAM's image is Phone.
This time, the opposition 'Mahagathbandhan' in Bihar on March 22 had announced its seat-sharing system for the 40 Lok Sabha seats within the state, with Lalu Prasad’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) set to contest on 20 seats, Congress on nine, Upendra Kushwahas's RSLP on five and Jitan Ram Manjhi-led HAM-S on 3 seats.
