LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party announced five more candidates for Lok Sabha elections on Friday. Four-time MP Shafeeq-ur-Rehman Barq might be party's candidate from Sambhal while sitting MP Tabassum Hasan might be fielded again from Kairana. So a long way, SP has announced 16 candidates.
An outdated Mulayam loyalist, Barq, had parted tactics with SP in 2009 after the party joined arms with former UP chief minister Kalyan Singh ahead of 2009 Lok Sabha polls. Barq switched to the BSP camp and gained Sambhal seat in 2009 polls on party's price ticket.
Later, he returned to the SP fold and sought re-election from Sambhal in 2014 Lok Sabha elections, however came 2d.
Tabassum successfully contested the Kairana bypoll on Rashtriya Lok Dal price ticket ultimate year. She will seek re-election from the seat however on SP price ticket.
SP also declared Vinod Kumar Singh alias Pandit Singh as party nominee from Gonda; Ram Sagar Rawat from Barabanki, and Surendra Kumar alias Munni Sharma from Ghaziabad.
On Friday, the party announced its third listing of candidates. On Tuesday, SP had named Ramji Lal Suman as its candidate from Hathras (reserved) seat and Rajendra S Bind from Mirzapur seat.
