LUCKNOW: In a significant embarrassment to Lucknow Municipal Corporation, city's rank within the all India Swachhta Survey has slipped from 115 in 2018 to 121 this year.
Lucknow has been awarded 2,746 points (or 54.92% marks) out of 5,000 points within the survey. Indore has come first with 4,659 points (or 93.18% marks).
A complete 425 cities were assessed within the survey performed by the Union urban construction ministry.
The city has also slipped from 6th to 10th rank within the state. Ghaziabad topped in UP with all India rank of 13 by scoring three,877 points, followed by Kanpur (rank 65), Varanasi (70), Agra (85) and Saharanpur (92).
The rating used to be done on 4 parameters - direct remark by survey team, self-certification, provider level development and citizen comments - each wearing 1,250 points.
LMC scored the lowest points within the provider level development by the civic frame, which included handling of daily duties like rubbish collection and disposal, sweeping of roads and public places, and cleansing of drains. Lucknow got handiest 259 points (20.72%) in this category.
Significantly, LMC had given itself Five-star ranking by awarding 800 points below 'self-certification' category, however the third-party evaluation gave it handiest 2 stars, which means 600 points.
In direct remark category, through which the central team inspected the standing of ODF within the city and took citizen comments, Lucknow used to be awarded 899 points.
