Belagavi: Kulgod police in Gokak taluk on Monday arrested a person for allegedly posting a derogatory picture of Dr B R Ambedkar on WhatsApp. Police said Mallikarjun Harijan, 24, of Thimmapur had photoshopped a photograph of Dastagir Hoolikatti of Dhavaleshwar village with that of Ambedkar and posted it on WhatsApp to settle a private score. After the submit went vital, police had registered a case towards Hoolikatti on March 7.
During investigation, police found that Hoolikatti was once certainly not attached with the case and known Mallikarjun as the source of the morphed photo. SP Sudheerkumar Reddy said the accused had taken Hoolikatti’s photo from his Facebook profile.
Gold chain stolen
Hubballi: A girl’s gold chain was once stolen when she was once boarding a bus at Old Bus Stand on March 9. Archana Raghavendra Talageri of Mundagod advised Suburban police that the chain was once in her handbag. TNN
