VADODARA: A 56-year-old assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police, Hasmukh Parmar, attempted self immolation at his place of abode in Sawad quarters in Harni on Friday morning. He was rushed to a private health center close to Waghodia Road with 70 in step with cent burns. According to police assets, Parmar, whose condition is now solid, was mentally disturbed for the previous few months. Parmar’s circle of relatives accommodates his wife, a son and a daughter. The son runs a food stall to eke a living.
Parmar, who is posted at the Sayajigunj police station, reportedly aroused from sleep early in the morning and went about his daily chores as usual at his place of abode and likewise went up to the terrace to do yoga. However, after a while his circle of relatives and neighbours heard loud cries from the terrace and saw Parmar in flames. They quickly doused the fire and took him to a private health center.
“Parmar had been dealing with psychological issues via getting disappointed over minor things and was below psychiatric treatment. We learnt that Parmar had attempted suicide even previous via taking an overdose of medicines,” S S Anand, Warasia police inspector advised TOI.
Anand additional stated that Parmar used to take lot of tension and get disappointed if he was requested to do any specific responsibility. He was emotional and had grow to be cussed too. “But what exactly precipitated Parmar to set himself on fire isn't known. In reality, he was on in poor health depart for ultimate six days, so there is not any likelihood of any duty-related tension,” Anand added.
