BATHINDA: There is an crucial need to care for crossborder smuggling of drugs and liquor and expand a coordinated method to counter it, said officials on the coordination meeting of IGPs from north Indian states of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. They agreed that drug and liquor smuggling, excluding tackling organised crime, is the largest problem for the police of three north Indian states.
Inspector General of Bikaner in Rajasthan B L Meena stated consignments of addiction forming medicine, opium and heroin achieve Punjab from Rajasthan and liquor from Punjab and Haryana is smuggled to the dry state of Gujarat by way of Rajasthan and it could be successfully tackled with whole coordination.
