NAGPUR: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation is about to take the help of National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (Neeri) to scrub city’s Futala and Naik lakes. Municipal commissioner Abhijit Bangar said Neeri has come up with an offer to scrub each the lakes and has sought Rs1-1.50 crore for every lakes’ rejuvenation.
“Before starting to deal with water of each the lakes, Neeri will first identify the source of pollution,” Bangar said, adding that Futala lake rejuvenation paintings would be taken up the in the first phase.
As in keeping with Neeri proposal, it's going to use a mix of various applied sciences including its patented ones, to rejuvenate the two lakes. The focal point would be on seize and treatment of sewage water prior to liberating it in the water bodies. During the treatment, ranges of chemical oxygen call for, biochemical oxygen call for and other key parameters can be brought below permissible requirements. The NMC is yet to take any final choice.
The NMC will also be getting 5 faraway sensor-based technology showcased at a start-up event held in Mumbai. The state government has assured to give you the monetary help to get the technology that may rid the lakes of floating wastes.
