PUNE: One individual was killed and 3 others were injured in a head-on collision between a tanker and a pace at Dive ghat on Hadapsar-Saswad highway around 7.30am on Saturday.
The Loni Kalbhor police recognized the deceased pace motive force as Dhanraj Nivrutti Bichitkar (43) from Chintamaninagar in Hadapsar.
The pace was heading against Hadapsar from Saswad when the driver of a speeding petrol tanker travelling in the reverse side lost regulate over the vehicle and collided head on with the pace, killing its motive force.
The affect of the coincidence was such that the pace was pushed in the back of and hit a sports activities application vehicle (SUV). However, the driver of the SUV escaped unharmed. All 3 automobiles concerned in the mishap were damaged.
Policemen Jaisingh Jadhav from the Loni Kalbhor police stated Bichitkar was rushed to the Sassoon General Hospital but he succumbed to a couple of injuries while present process remedy.
Jadhav added that 3 others, including the truck motive force, were injured in the coincidence. The details of the injured aren't referred to as they did not file the incident to the police. “We have booked the truck motive force under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicles Act,” he added.
