LUDHIANA: A man beneath the influence of gear thrashed a 10-year-old boy in Guru Arjun Dev Nagar on Monday night time.
The accused hit the boy with a hammer a number of instances on his head. When different youngsters playing within the area raised an alarm, boy's neighbors stuck the accused, thrashed him and handed him over to the police.
The injured boy was rushed to a close-by health facility from the place he was referred to CMC Hospital.
Boy's father is a vegetable vendor while his mother works as a home help. The couple has four youngsters including 3 daughters.
Boy's mother said that she was inside of her space while youngsters were playing outdoor space. Some neighbours rushed to her pointing out that someone has attacked her son with a hammer.
"The accused is in police custody. He attacked the boy beneath the influence of gear. He seems to have taken heavy dose of the drug as he isn't even ready to inform his name, ACP (East) Devinder Chaudhary said.
The professional added that the situation of the boy is said to be essential.
