JALANDHAR: Punjab Congress president Sunil Jakhar mentioned on Friday that his birthday party would not have any truck with Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda for parliamentary elections.
He mentioned a contemporary observation by way of former SGPC leader Bibi Jagir Kaur indicated that the Shiromani Akali Dal had still not shut its door at the Dera when it got here to fortify for elections.
"We will not compromise with the Dera for elections, especially after sacrilege incidents have been traced to them," Jakhar mentioned, responding to a question on whether the birthday party would seek the sect's fortify this time, adore it had completed for polls earlier.
Jakhar mentioned all Deras may not be handled alike. Jakhar mentioned Jagir Kaur had announced that whilst she would not be taking the Dera's fortify, only birthday party president Sukhbir Singh Badal may give an explanation for SAD's overall determination. The Congress leader mentioned this indicated that SAD had still not shut its door on taking the sect's fortify and was conserving its channels and choices open.
"Bibi has said very little but this speaks volumes about SAD's approach, as Kaur could not explain the party stand on this issue. In fact, this amounts to Sukhbir's indictment. Such a statement is not coming from an ordinary leader, but a very senior leader of SAD, one who has served as the president of SGPC in the past and is now the party candidate for parliamentary elections," Jakhar added.
