Suraj Shakya a spent force in politics: Etah MP

AGRA: Day after the four-time MLA and previous BJP senior leader Suraj Singh Shakya introduced his resolution to contest the impending Lok Sabha elections from Etah constituency on a Jan Adhikar Party ticket, sitting BJP MP of Etah, Rajveer Singh described him as a spent force who is attempting to gain political mileage by means of contesting an election against him.

Speaking with TOI, the 60-year-old MP mentioned, "For greater than a decade, septuagenarian Shakya has no longer been energetic in politics. He is a spent force. There is a BJP wave within the nation and he is attempting to gain political mileage within the final days of his political profession.”

Shakya was once the nearest aide of Rajveer Singh’s father, Kalyan Singh, who is governor of Rajasthan at the moment and was former chief minister of UP.

Rajveer Singh had won the 2014 Lok Sabha elections with four,74,978 votes from Etah constituency.

Etah right now accommodates 5 state assembly segments — Kasganj, Amapur, Patiyali, Etah and Marhara. According to Election Commission, there have been 15,77,457 citizens in 2014. The constituency is primarily dominated by means of 3 lakh Lodhi Rajput citizens, adopted by means of 2.50 lakh Shakya, round 1.50 lakh Yadav and virtually 1.20 lakh Muslim citizens. Brahmins, Baniyas, Jains, Dalits and individuals of other castes and religions represent remainder of the citizens.

According to Amit Tiwari, an area political analyst, Rajveer Singh, who is a Lodhi Rajput, is more likely to face a tough pageant from 70-year-old Shakya as the latter enjoys toughen from all the caste and non secular communities. Shakya has been a state minister two times all over the tenure of BJP CM Kalyan Singh and SP CM Mulayam Singh Yadav. He was an MLA in 1991, 1993, 2002 and 2007. Shakya was state minister in Kalyan Singh government in 1992.

Tiwari mentioned two lakh-strong Shakya votes may just turn the tide in favour of the former BJP leader as he represents them. In 2014, there was no Shakya neighborhood illustration. Further, a section a few of the 3 lakh-strong Lodhi Rajput neighborhood is not pleased with Rajveer Singh. They may just transfer their allegiance to Shakya, he added.

Responding to the queries on vote equations in Etah constituency, BJP leader Rajveer Singh mentioned, “Today's citizens are good. They know which candidate can lend a hand convey welfare and prosperity within the region. In the previous 5 years, I have initiated a large number of development programmes in Etah comparable to laying the root of a medical college, construction of roads and laying out a sewer device. I have put power on local administration to take strict action against males keen on making illegal countrymade liquor and guns. I'm assured of defeating all the opponents."
