Mangaluru: Three miscreants stopped and robbed a truck driver at Shiridigudde, Golithottu village, recently.
According to police, the truck loaded with sanitaryware belonging to an MNC was once going towards Mangaluru from Chikkaballapur. On reaching near Golithottu, 3 unidentified folks, who came in a car, waylaid the truck. The trio gagged and tied up the truck driver, Ambarish from Pandavapura in Mandya district, and then they assaulted him and robbed Rs 5,200 and a mobile phone belonging to him. The incident came about within the early hours of Monday.
The robbery came to light when any other truck of the corporate crossed the spot round 5.30 am. The victim, who was once found unconscious, was once shifted to a health facility at Nelyadi, and is receiving treatment. Unidentified folks have broken the goods that have been being transported within the truck, stated assets. A case has been registered on the Uppinangady police station in this regard.
