Nagpur: The magic of Mangeshkar’s name continues to attract generations because the songs of sisters Lata, Asha and Usha, and brother Hridaynath, are etched in reminiscence of other people. This was once in evidence when connoisseurs of song celebrated the development after 83-year-old Usha Mangeshkar took the mic and introduced widespread songs at Suresh Bhat Sabhagruh on Friday.
Usha swept everybody off their feet by means of singing memorable songs with élan that brought on the target audience hum along with her at a programme titled ‘Triveni’, arranged by means of Sakhe Sobati Foundation and Harmony Events, to pay musical tributes to Mangeshkar sisters.
Usha Mangeshkar said she felt excited to accomplish in Nagpur after a long time and thanked the dignified target audience.
Melody in Usha’s voice was once worth savouring as she introduced songs like ‘Dil diwana’, ‘Malyachya malyamandhi’, ‘Chhup gaye saare nazare’, ‘Chhabidar chhabi mi toryat ubhi’, ‘Airanichya deva tula’, ‘Jai jai shiv shankar’, and ‘Mungda’, which was once a runway hit.
Breath-taking songs like ‘Chura liya hai’, ‘Nigahe milane ko’, ‘Hotho pe aisi baat’, ‘Jaanu meri jaan’, ‘Piya tose naina’, ‘Yeh hai reshami’, ‘Bekhudi mein sanam’, ‘Tum aa gaye ho’, ‘Ek pyar ka nagma’, ‘Aplum chaplum’, ‘Kahe tarsaye’, ‘Tumko piya dil diya’, ‘Panch rupayya’, ‘Aaja aaja major hu pyar tera’ and plenty of extra had been introduced by means of Akanksha Nagarkar, Manisha Nishchal, Sagar Madhumatke, Gauri Shinde, Mukul Pandey, Pallavi Damle, Palak Arya and Jyotiraman Iyer that left the target audience spellbound.
The accompanying artistes had been Mahendra Dole, Ashok Tokalwar, Rajesh Dhamankar, Ujjwal Gokarn, Amar Shende, Aniket, Raju Gajbhiye, Ritesh Trivedi, Nandu Gohne and Arvind Upadhyay.
The programme began with the lighting fixtures of a traditional lamp. Social worker Girish Gandhi and Praful Manohar had been the visitors.
