Vehicles worth over Rs 12 lakh recovered from gang in Amreli

Rajkot: A six-member gang of vehicle thieves was busted in Pipalva village of Lathi taluka in Amreli district on Sunday morning. The Amreli LCB officers also recovered 31 stolen two-wheelers price Rs 12.five lakh from the accused.

The accused had been known as Ghanshyam Chauhan (27), a resident of Pipalva village, Nilesh Vaghela (32), Tabrez Kariyani (25), Atul Jhamod (23), Kishan Hirpara (21) and Parth Jhambukiya (25), all citizens of Botad.


“After stealing the automobiles, the accused would make their duplicate registration certificate (RC) books and tell their consumers in villages that that they had purchased the automobiles in an auction by way of the bank because the homeowners of the automobiles had been declared bank defaulters, they would promote the automobiles,” stated D Ok Vaghela, Amreli LCB inspector.


Of the accused, Hirpara and Jhambukiya are computer students in Botad, while Vaghela and Kariyani do the set up paintings of CCTV cameras, Jhamod is a diamond employee and Chauhan is a farmer.


“The accused had been arrested when we won a tip-off about the stolen automobiles parked within the farm belonging to Chauhan,” added Vaghela.
