GAYA: A 32-year-old woman from China's Shanghai used to be allegedly molested throughout the Mahabodhi Mahavihara at Bodh Gaya on Friday morning. The accused has been arrested.
In a two-page handwritten grievance, the pilgrim said the accused accosted her throughout the shrine and presented her to show some areas, which she later got here to know had no CCTV coverage. He also instructed her that she had some issues and wanted to supply prayers for overcoming them. As she knelt down to wish, the man lifted her shirt and put his hand within.
Bodh Gaya SHO SK Mahto said the accused, Vicky, used to be arrested. "A case has been registered against him. The man, in his 20s, is an unauthorized guide and belongs to the nearby Mocharim village," Mahto said.
Shrine Management Committee secretary N Dorje denied that the accused used to be a temple employee.
