2 brain-dead patients save 12 lives in B'luru

BENGALURU: Two brain-dead patients stored the lives of 12 persons on Wednesday as their grieving households decided to donate their organs.

One of the donors was a 16-year-old girl who suffered brain haemorrhage and the other was a 50-year-old guy who met with a road accident.


The 1 PU student was delivered to Fortis clinic on Bannerghatta Road on April 2. Her signs began with mere headache and vomiting sooner than becoming an irreversible condition. Her kidney and liver were given to needy patients at the clinic. Her center couldn’t be harvested however center valve went to a affected person in Manipal Hospitals, corneas to Sankara Eye clinic and 2d kidney to MS Ramaiah clinic.


In the other case, the man who met with an accident whilst getting back from a marriage on March 30 was declared brain lifeless on April three, at Sparsh clinic, Yeshwantpur. His liver, center valves, corneas, kidneys were donated to needy patients in different hospitals.
