HYDERABAD: An engineering scholar who attempted to kill his cousin for refusing to marry him was arrested by Malkajgiri police.
The 21-year-old accused from Moulali, is a BTech final 12 months scholar of an engineering faculty in Ghatkesar. He was in love along with his 19-year-old cousin from Moulali. The youngster is pursuing commencement at a non-public faculty in Kushaiguda.
Since 365 days, the accused has been harassing the woman to marry him. But the woman refused to marry him and unable to position up along with his harassment, she not too long ago advised her oldsters in regards to the harassment.
The sufferer’s oldsters warned him to mend his tactics but he didn't. From March closing week, the accused began stalking the sufferer and continued to harass her. On Saturday morning, he intercepted the sufferer at Vasanta Vihar Colony in Moulali when she was going to university. ‘The accused requested the sufferer to accompany him and when she refused, he doused her with petrol and attempted to set her ablaze. But, the sufferer raised an alarm and locals intervened, forcing the accused to escape from the spot,” Malkajgiri police mentioned.
Based on the complaint lodged by the sufferer, police registered a case towards the accused and arrested him on Monday. The accused was despatched in judicial remand.
