AHMEDABAD: The Indian Coast Guard rescued 8 fishermen off Porbandar value in Gujarat after a distress call as their boat used to be flooded.
The coast guard braved tough sea to save the lives of fishermen some 27 nautical miles off the coast at round 1am on Sunday.
Coast guard send C-445 gained the distress call from IFB Prabhu Sagar on MMB channel 16. The fishing boat with 8 crew onboard intimated flooding onboard and requested for lend a hand.
Following the decision, send C-445 swung into motion and immediately proceeded in opposition to the location of the boat.
The send reached IFB Prabhu Sagar at about 3am and started the rescue operation.
All the 8 crew participants had been saved and had been taken onboard ICG C-445 safely and delivered to Porbandar harbour at 7am.
