NAGPUR: In a large reduction to students, the Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court on Friday, lifted its stay at the postgraduate dental (MDS) admission process, subjected to its ultimate orders.
A department bench comprising justices Sunil Shukre and Pushpa Ganediwala used to be listening to the case through two PG students alleging discrimination in Socially and Economically Backward Classes (SEBC) quota seats allocated in govt and private clinical colleges in the state.
Earlier, the judges were knowledgeable that similar instances were being heard on the HC’s primary bench in Mumbai. They adjourned the listening to declaring that the case can be taken up for the one after Chief Justice led bench disposes comparable instances. Similar instances filed in Mumbai had prayed for shifting all petitions to CJ-led bench.
The judges however allowed Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) to continue the admissions process, but it might be subjected to HC’s ultimate resolution. Earlier on Thursday, the HC extended its stay at the e-newsletter of the choice checklist for masters in dental surgery (MDS) that used to be supposed to be released on April five.
