Hyderabad: Woman gives birth to quadruplets

HYDERABAD: A 24-year-old girl from Nallakunta, Hemalatha, delivered quadruplets, two boys and two ladies, at Geetha Nursing Home in Chilkalguda on Sunday.


Though the woman had delivered the quadruplets on April 2, the babies, who weigh round 1 kg, have been declared secure and passed over to the mother at the BCC Neo Hospital within the town on Sunday.


According to medical doctors, quadruplets are born once in every eight lakh births. “Usually, we simply examine those cases but rarely get to look them. Also, the babies’ possibilities of survival in such cases is unusual but on this case all 4 babies have been wholesome and showed vital weight achieve over the past 20 days,” said Dr NL Sridhar, paediatrician and managing director of BBC Neo Hospital the place the babies have been stored below observation.


The girl underwent a C-section. “The 4 babies have been delivered inside 2 minutes with simply 50 to 60 seconds difference. Since we knew about the pregnancy, our staff of 4 medical doctors have been at the Geetha nursing house for the delivery and the babies have been shifted to our facility at the identical day,” added the physician.
