NAGPUR: Sonegaon Lake is about to be rid of sewage water. The Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) is likely to commission its mini sewage treatment plant (STP) constructed on the financial institution of Sonegaon Lake inside two-three months.
NIT official advised IdealNews civil works of the STP were completed. “STP is being advanced the use of phytorid generation of the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) underneath whose supervision the venture is bobbing up. The STP can have treatment capacity of .three million litres in keeping with day (MLD). Works to put in the programs are going on,” he stated.
The NIT is developing the STP via a joint venture (JV) of Vishvaraj Infrastructure Ltd and Ayyappa Infra Projects Private Ltd. The JV will function and take care of the STP for 5 years.
Water flows into the Lake from two sources — via a sewage line and a hurricane water drain. Under the venture, the NIT will lure sewage water, treat and unlock it within the water body. Thus, there will probably be not more unlock of sewage water into the Lake.
This will benefit citizens within sight the Lake. Water in wells and borewells is probably not contaminated. Numerous livestock depended on the Lake too will benefit.
Earlier, Sonegaon Lake used to head dry in March itself. In 2014, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) achieved rejuvenation works. The Lake used to be desilted via initiative taken by corporators Sandip Joshi and Prakash Bhoyar within the final two years. Now, part of Sonegaon Lake still has water regardless of emerging temperatures.
Now, the NMC is all set to execute beautification works of Rs18.20 crore via MahaMetro.
As some distance as STP is concerned, it is going to be town’s 2d mini STP to be commissioned. Following orders of Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court, the NIT had proposed eight mini STPs with total capacity of 61.30 MLD at the price of Rs110 crore.
Around 9 months ago, the NIT had commissioned STP of 1 MLD on sewage line at Kachimet on Amravati street. It is preventing float of sewage water in Ambazari Lake. The treated sewage is getting used at Ambazari Biodiversity park. It used to be constructed the use of continuous cardio multistage soil bio generation (CAMUS-SBT) advanced by IIT-Mumbai.
The NIT has also started construction of STP of 5 MLD the use of phytorid generation on Nag river on the financial institution of Ambazari Lake. Of ultimate 5, one STP with capacity of 40 MLD is being constructed on Pora river at Somalwada, STP of three MLD on Pili river at Nara, two on Hatti nullah at Hazari Pahad and Chamar nullah at Ittabutti house with capacity of 4 MLD and 9 MLD, respectively and STP of 4 MLD prior to Gorewada Lake.
The NMC had planned equivalent 4 mini STPs in 2012 and failed to commission even one till date.
