Man wanted in murder, kidnapping case arrested by Ambala police

AMBALA: Ambala Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohit Handa informed that the crime investigation agency (CIA)-1 workforce of the district police has taken into custody a sought after accused carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh. The accused has been recognized as Navjot alias Naini of Azad Nagar, Maheshnagar in Ambala Cantonment area.


Navjot used to be sought after since July eight, 2013, in a murder and kidnapping case of Gurpal Singh, Sarpanch, resident Maheshnagar. SP Handa advised that the accused has been arrested under a distinct campaign of Ambala police of arresting infamous and sought after criminals.


As in step with the ideas Navjot on Monday used to be introduced prior to the court docket which sent him to judicial custody for 14 days.


CIA-1 in-charge inspector Sandeep Kumar said, “The accused Navjot used to be arrested through Delhi police a couple of months in the past in reference to a case of Arms Act. We have taken him into custody on manufacturing warrant from Delhi Police in reference to a murder and kidnapping case and he's going to be taken on police remand after obtaining his case file from high court docket. Once we get the file, we will present his case in the court docket again to take him under police custody. Navjot used to be carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh introduced through Haryana Government.”


The police informed that on July eight, 2013, some unknown accused had abducted Gurpal Singh Sarpanch of Maheshnagar and murdered him. A case in this regard used to be registered at Maheshnagar police station on the identical day.
