GREATER NOIDA: The spouse of inspector Subodh Kumar Singh, who was killed in violence that broke out after cow slaughter allegations in Bulandshahr last year, spoke out against BJP’s Bhopal candidate Pragya Thakur for her remarks on Mumbai ATS leader Hemant Karkare’s death, announcing there may be “nothing worse than criticising martyrs”.
Stating that politicians will have to be capable to go to the “line of threat” themselves sooner than making such statements, Rajni Singh mentioned on Saturday the Election Commission will have to take strong action against such candidates.
“I felt that in case you’ve such a lot power, why don’t you give blessings to somebody? If you'll do dangerous things with somebody (with a curse), you will have to also do one thing just right. You will have to give blessings,” Rajni mentioned, regarding Pragya’s remark that she had cursed Karkare when she was in Mumbai police’s custody. “It’s grievance of the martyrs who've died fighting for the nation. There’s nothing worse than this. I am hoping in future, there will have to not come an afternoon when nobody needs to get martyred. Then what is going to they do? Police may even try to save themselves. Why would they put their lives in danger?” Rajni requested.
Pragya made the comments on Friday. She took back her comments after a typhoon of grievance. The IPS Association had tweeted: “Ashok Chakra awardee past due Sri Hemant Karkare, IPS made the very best sacrifice fighting terrorists. Those of us in uniform condemn the insulting commentary made through a candidate and demand that sacrifices of all our martyrs be revered.”
Rajni, who lives in Greater Noida (West) with her circle of relatives, mentioned, “The IPS association will have to give a more potent respond to the remarks as their honour has been hurt”, including she remembered her husband as a policeman who would always be within the entrance line.
Singh’s eldest son Shrey, who is preparing for provincial police service (PPS) tests, mentioned: “When you might be fighting elections, you will have to at least be mindful that this can be a accountability and you might be influencing other folks.”
