PANAJI: The directorate of fireplace and emergency services and products spent much of Monday afternoon dousing a large hearth that spread fast and wild on a cashew plantation at Azossim.
The hearth services and products spent over 5 hours preventing the hearth and but even so the use of the hearth tender at Old Goa, were pressured to call in reinforcements from the Panaji headquarters.
Emergency team of workers mentioned they have got been receiving numerous dry grass fires which may also be attributed to hovering temperatures. The division has estimated the loss at Rs 50,000.
