PUNE: The Yerawada police on Saturday arrested a 31-year-old man for sexually assaulting a nine-year-old woman, the daughter of his neighbour, in their residential building within the afternoon when she was taking part in with her pal.
A probe printed that the suspect had molested her last year too. The suspect has been arrested under sections 377 (unnatural offence), 354-A (sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code and the relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
An officer from the Yerawada police informed IdealNews that on Saturday round 11am, the lady and her pal had been taking part in at the premises of their building. The suspect called the lady. Her pal fled from there. “The suspect then molested the lady through touching her improperly,” the officer stated including, “The incident came to gentle when the lady’s mother spotted her and raised an alarm.”
The woman’s mother right away approached the police and lodged a complaint. “During counselling, the lady printed that last summer, the suspect had touched her improperly and indulged in unnatural intercourse with her. She didn't tell her parents because the suspect had threatened to kill her brother,” the officer unhappy.
The police are investigating if the suspect had sexually assaulted different minor women, the officer stated.
