MUZAFFARPUR: Unidentified criminals looted Rs 4 lakh from a wholesale egg dealer close to Dadar bridge under the Ahiapur police station area right here on Monday. The criminals, who fled against Bairiya bus stand in the town after committing the crime, also fired in the air in a bid to terrorise the locals.
The incident took place around 3pm when the dealer, Mohammad Israr, was once on technique to Brahmapura locality of the city to hand over the cash to any other dealer.
Israr stated he had saved the cash in a bag and was once going to Brahmapura using a bike. “After I reached close to bridge on the old Darbhanga bypass highway, 3 motorcycle-borne masked criminals intercepted me and looted the cash at gunpoint. They also took away my bike. When I attempted to boost an alarm, they hit me with the butt of their firearm,” Israr stated.
Muzaffarpur SSP Manoj Kumar stated a manhunt have been launched to arrest those involved in the crime. “The criminals deserted the looted bike close to Kolhua roundabout. Police have identified the criminals and efforts are directly to arrest them,” the SSP added.
The large sunlight loot has put a question mark over security preparations in the district in view of the ensuing parliamentary election. Muzaffarpur will move to the polls in the fifth segment on May 6. A police workforce was once checking automobiles hardly ever 100 metres away from the spot where the crime took place.
