Trader duped of Rs 62 lakh in Jamnagar

Rajkot: Six individuals together with two girls have been booked on Wednesday for allegedly duping a dealer of Rs 61.70 lakh in Kalawad Naka locality of Jamnagar.

Police said the accused had lured Hussein Memon into a lure by telling him that they had a person who had demonetized forex notes price Rs 1.50 crore for which in addition they had a buyer. The accused then advised the sufferer that they might buy the demonetized notes for Rs 61.70 lakh after which sell it to the possible buyer for Rs 1 crore. They requested Memon to invest Rs 61.70 lakh claiming that he would profit Rs 61.70 lakh in the transaction.


WHen Memon fell into their lure, the accused made him sit of their automobile and drove him to Junagadh, Rajkot, Chotila and again to Jamnagar. “ The accused then took the cash from Memon ahead of dropping him off in Jamnagar and did a disappearing act,” said an professional from Jamnagar C division police station.


In his criticism, Memon recognized the accused as Harish Nanda and Chirag Nanda, two citizens of Gokulnagar locality of Jamnagar, Salim of Bilkha of Junagadh taluka, Munna Ibrahim of Junagadh and two unidentified girls. The accused are but to be nabbed.
