VADODARA: An assistant engineer of Waghodiya taluka panchayat was once imprisoned for seven years on Monday for accepting Rs 1,500 bribe in November 2011.
Vasudev Chandratre, who was once running within the built-in rural building department of the panchayat, was once caught in a trap laid by means of anti-corruption bureau on November 15, 2011. Complainant Kanti Vasava, who was once a beneficiary of Indira Awaas Yojana, was once asked to present bribe for clearing his government grant of Rs 45,000. Vasava was once then sarpanch of Motabharda village and had built his area in June 2010 on a land given by means of government under the scheme.
After the construction of the home, he approached Chandratre several occasions for clearing his grant amount. Chandratre inspected Vasava’s area however stored dilly dallying in clearing the volume. After repeated pleading by means of Vasava, Chandratre asked him to present Rs 2,000 cash. Vasava gave him Rs 500 and informed him that he's going to the pay remaining amount of Rs 1,500 after few days.
Vasava then knowledgeable the ACB which laid a trap in Chandratre’s workplace. Chandratre was once then attempted within the additional classes courtroom positioned at Savli and was once convicted on Monday.
The courtroom of additional classes judge D J Mehta additionally fined Chandratre of Rs 10,000.
