Why Kerala government opposing CBI probe in Shuhaib murder, asks Congress

KANNUR: The Congress birthday party has alleged that there is a conspiracy to keep away from CBI probe into the murder of their Youth leader SP Shuhaib and the Kerala govt had attempted to protect the accused within the case. Youth leader SP Shuhaib used to be murdered near Mattannur within the district closing year.

Addressing a press convention here on Sunday, bringing up some RTI documents, DCC president Satheesan Pacheni said the government, which is meant to stand through the victims, had spent a huge amount from the exchequer to pay the lawyers to protect the accused.

"The government has already spent a huge amount as fees to the lawyers from the Supreme Court to protect the accused by using the taxpayers’ money," he added. The resolution to deliver the senior lawyers from the Supreme Court itself used to be the evidence that the manager minister had some illegitimate reference to the accused on this murder case, Pacheni alleged.

Further, he said that one of the crucial accused on this case, Akash Thillankeri, had even posted on his Facebook page a photograph of his with the manager minister, which shows their connection.

"When there used to be the only bench order from the Supreme Court turning in the murder case to the CBI, the state govt used to be so occupied with moving the Supreme Court against this,” Pacheni said.

When the UDF govt used to be in power, there used to be a scheme to offer pension to the hemophilia patients however it used to be stopped in August 2017, said Satheesan, who alleged that the government isn't appearing any mercy to the destitute and it is protecting the criminals.
