Union minister Anantkumar Hegde could also be happy about his margin of 4,79,649 votes at Uttara Kannada. But his Lok Sabha segment received over 16,017 NOTA votes, i.e. 1.39% against the 11,53,480 legitimate votes polled votes, which is the best possible within the state. It must be famous that Uttara Kannada had registered 16,277 NOTA votes in 2014 which was once also the best possible in Karnataka throughout that election.
