One of the most popular part of the Mumbai native is the ‘women’ coach’ that has additionally been influencing the basis of several scripts via film-makers and tales via famend authors for years. The women’ coach was symbolised via a ‘mahila’ avatar that illustrated a girl wearing a saree with the pallu on her head and a bindi on her brow. But now that girls have an advanced identity, Mumbai railways took a good step via converting the symbol to a modern woman wearing a pantsuit and the exchange will undoubtedly deliver a grin to your face!
This happy exchange has been dropped at about two 12-coaches rakes and two more might be rolled out in few weeks. The upgraded women coaches even have posters of sturdy women idols like the primary Indian woman astronaut, Kalpana Chawla along side ace badminton participant, Saina Nehwal, and cricketer, Mithali Raj along side the main points in their achievements.
The remodelling began two months ago after the regular inspection. It was felt that the signages want to be remodelled and must be made prominent. The officers realised that the picture of a girl on the coaches was not relatable anymore. Chief PRO of WR, Ravinder Bhakar, told Mumbai Mirror, "The idea was to adopt an icon that will do justice and represent today's women in this city, who are independent and successful."
Mumbai’s native teach network is a part of the primary railway network deliberate in Asia. For the infrastructure built via Britishers, the primary teach ran between Thane and Bori Bunder (these days known as Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus) stations.
