GURGAON: A bunch of citizens of Bestech Park View Residency and Mahindra Aura in Palam Vihar approached PWD minister Rao Narbir's workplace on Tuesday, difficult the suspension of the SHOs of Palam Vihar and Bajghera.

Both SHOs threatened to book us under IPC sections that would force us to languish in jails," reads the grievance. In an earlier grievance to sub-divisional Justice of the Peace Bharat Bhushan, they had additionally demanded suspension of both the SHOs and submitting of FIRs towards them.


"Not only did the cops try to stop us from protesting, they also misbehaved with the women. It's a clear case of misuse of official position by the SHOs, as well as inefficiency on their part to resolve the issues. Hence, we are proposing strict disciplinary action against them," stated Yashesh Yadav, president of Mahindra Aura, one of the protesters.


Bhushan stated he had gained the grievance on behalf of the government, and forwarded it to the DCP (west) to take action. "We'll look into the matter and take required action. But it's unlikely the SHOs would have misbehaved with anyone, as they have clean records," stated DCP (west) Sumit Kuhar.


TOI had earlier reported that following a protest via citizens of the two Palam Vihar societies, an FIR were registered towards 50 other folks, together with girls, below sections 147 (rioting), 149 (illegal meeting), 186 (obstructing public servants in discharge of public function), 283 (danger or obstruction in public method of navigation) and 341 (wrongful restraint) of IPC, at Palam Vihar police station. The citizens had taken out a protest on Friday towards construction of a concrete road outdoor their housing societies, adding to the city's already poor air pollution levels.
