Many VIP invitees missing at CM’s iftar

NEW DELHI: The chief minister's iftar on Friday misplaced its sheen with lots of the outstanding invitees, including Vice-President Hamid Ansari, lieutenant governor Anil Baijal, former CM Shiela Dikshit and former LG Najeeb Jung, giving it a pass over. Most of them had attended the iftar hosted via the executive minister remaining yr.

While AAP's Kumar Vishwas, who has been accused of eyeing the party convener's publish rather than Kejriwal, did not flip up, MLA Amanatulla Khan, who recently slammed Vishwas for being a BJP agent, was seen going round obliging enthusiasts who wanted selfies with him. After greeting the CM, who is also the chairman of Urdu Academy in Delhi, Khan was not seen round him.

Masid Deobandi, vice-chairman of Urdu Academy, advised TOI, "An invitation was sent to Vishwas but we don't know why he didn't turn up." He added that the Vice-President may not attend as a result of an iftar President Pranab Mukherjee hosted on Friday night.

The match, organised at Palika Services Officers Institute in Nehru Park along side Urdu Academy, did not appear to be a commonplace guy's affair. Amid many tents for normal guests, an enclosure was erected for Kejriwal and other "well connected" guests.

Quite a few guests even left fuming after they were not allowed entry into the VIP enclosure.

In addition to a dozen of enthusiasts, 10 heavy responsibility coolers had been placed across the well carpeted VIP enclosure. A gloomy crimson carpet led the guests to the enclosure.

The iftar was, then again, neatly deliberate. No mad rush for food was witnessed as there have been sufficient counters for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian pieces.

Not many AAP functionaries had been seen on the match. However, maximum party MLAs in addition to deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia had been a few of the key guests.
