TIRUPUR: Two unidentified youths tried to kill an 11-year-old schoolgirl by means of slitting her throat at Nambiyampalayam in Tirupur district of Tamil Nadu on Monday.
The incident took place when Monisha (title modified), daughter of a daily salary earner, was going to university with her buddies. She is learning in a government center faculty in the house.
Two motorcycle-borne youths intercepted her. One of them pulled her fingers, and Monisha started screaming for assist. Before someone came for assist, the youths slit her throat using a hacksaw blade and escaped from the spot.
Monisha was rushed to a primary health middle for first help. Later, she was taken to Avinashi Government Hospital where she was recovering, police said.
The Avinashi police registered the case and were investigating.
