Water to Appu Ghar questioned in NGT

GURGAON: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Monday directed Huda to give an explanation for why water supply to Appu Ghar can't be stopped and likewise requested it to provide main points of water being provided in adjoining sectors. The subsequent date of hearing has been scheduled for October 30.

The transfer comes within the wake of a petition filed via RTI activist Harinder Dhingra, looking for a direction to restrain Appu Ghar from using groundwater with out vital permission. He also sought the formation of knowledgeable committee to analyze illegal extraction of groundwater this is depleting town's water table.

The petitioner alleged that all over summers, Huda supplies roughly eight lakh litres of water per day to the amusement park, while citizens of many parts of town do not get enough to fulfill their daily wishes. "Residents in many parts of the city are not able to get even 10 litre of water a day during summers," Dhingra stated.

Appu Ghar is spread over an area of 42 acres and it has an exclusive water park named Oysters Beach which is spread over an area of 10 acres. It's run via International Recreational Amusement Limited.


During the hearing representatives of the water park claimed that they got the land from Huda through auction and feature all vital permission from the concerned executive agencies.


Niti Saxena, president (gross sales & advertising), Appu Ghar, stated their way is to conserve water and use recycled water. "We use recycled water in the park. However, if one checks the water used in the park is lesser than what is used in a five-star hotel," she added.


Responding to Dhingra's RTI query, Huda had in June 2016 stated the amusement park had been sanctioned two water connections, considered one of measurement 50mm and the opposite considered one of measurement 25mm.
