Coimbatore: City company officials got rid of an Aavin stall arrange illegally on its park website online near G V Residence in the town on Tuesday.

RTI activist S P Thiyagarajan, who was once at the spot, stated one Ramesh from a Tasmac shop located in the house was once instrumental in putting in the stall regardless that Vadivel claimed ownership for it.
"I informed the corporation officials and they reached the spot after an hour. There was a huge struggle as the workers did not budge despite officials ordering them to remove it," he stated. Later, the company official needed to deliver earthmovers to take away the stall. "Only then, the owners decided to remove the structure themselves," he stated. When TOI tried to touch Vadivel several times, he was once now not to be had for his comments.

R Raveendran, secretary of Resident Awareness Association of Coimbatore, stated, "We warned them and asked them to remove. Corporation officials also warned them. But suddenly on Tuesday, we saw workers doing painting work and they did not show any sign of removing the structure. So we informed the town planning officer Ravichandran who reached the spot and ensured it was removed," he stated.
Ravichandran stated that citizens should be sure that such vacant lands are developed into parks. "All they need to do is give us a proposal. There are many NGOs who are developing parks. They should take this up and we will ensure they are maintained," he stated.
