Former chief minister Tarun Gogoi too strongly criticised Sonowal for the move, not easy rapid rehabilitation and reimbursement for the victims. "This government came to power with the promise of protecting the 'jati-mati-bheti' of the indigenous people of the state. Now they have shown their real colour by bulldozing their own people," he said.


The Coordination Committee of Tribal Organisations of Assam (CCTOA), an umbrella organisation of no less than 18 tribal our bodies, has called for a 12-hour Assam bandh on Wednesday in protest of the eviction force.
