BSF organises half-marathon to pay homage to martyrs from Assam

GUWAHATI: BSF's Guwahati Frontier lately organized 21 km half-marathon and 5 km run for unity right here lately to pay homage to the martyrs of the paramilitary power from the state.


Since inception BSF has lost 850 Seema Praharis (border sentinels) within the carrier to the nation, of which 60 martyrs are from the state, a BSF reputable mentioned. BSF Guwahati Frontier inspector common Rakesh Aggarwal mentioned that through the tournament the purpose is to bring forth to the general public the sacrifices made by way of the paramilitary power, felicitate the families of martyrs and encourage younger era the spirit of patriotism.


"This half marathon was organised to commemorate the valiant deeds and sacrifices by the Seema Prahari (border sentinels) in the service to the nation," BSF statement mentioned.


Former governor R S Mooshahary, who could also be a former director common of BSF, was once provide at the tournament. Mooshahary mentioned that the development organised to pay homage to the martyrs goes to toughen relation of the border power with the folks of the state.
