GREATER NOIDA: In an effort to streamline processes and information, the 3 development authorities have determined to put in force Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), a device that comprises more than a few functions into one entire system.
The ERP is expected to enhance productiveness, build up efficiency and decrease costs in Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway areas, officials said. It will even lead to upper transparency and responsibility, making the actions of the 3 authorities visible to all, they said.
According to officials of Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA), the system might be in place inside six months. "Once in place, all processes — such as indenting, purchases, recovery of dues from defaulters and development — will be performed through the ERP system. It will also help meet the growing demand for government transparency," GNIDA leader Debashish Panda said.
"Any delay in the chain of officials from the stakeholder to the official will be identified and rectified. The elimination of paperwork and the streamlining of workflow, as well as transparency of all processes of the Authority, will improve efficiency and responsiveness as well," he added.
Officials said the ERP system will allow higher decision-making and organisation of knowledge assets in the three authorities. All departments of each and every Authority, including planning, initiatives, land, group of workers, assets and fiscal departments, might be integrated in the system. "Everybody wants to see what we are spending money on. This system will enable stakeholders to do that," CEO Panda said.
"Moreover, the system will also help the authorities in promoting industrial policy and ease of doing business in the three areas," said Arun Vir Singh, CEO, YEIDA.
"We have already shortlisted 16 companies, who have given us a presentation about how the system will work. We will finalise the company which will implement the system soon," Singh said.
