Martyred CRPF soldier laid to rest in his native village

Dharwad: Deputy commissioner S B Bommanahalli has promised all imaginable facilities to the members of the family of Manjunath Jakkanavar, the Central Reserve Police Force soldier who was killed in an encounter with naxals in Maharashtra.


Paying remaining respects to Manjunath on Tuesday, Bommanahalli said that the country has suffered an excellent loss due to the 31-year-old's demise. Responding to calls for of burying the frame on the school flooring in Managundi, Bommanahalli said that he'll instruct the gram panchayat to send a proposal to build a memorial on the spot. "Let the last rites take place in a public burial ground," he told residents of Managundi, the native village of Manjunath.


Accordingly, the remaining rites were performed at a public graveyard. B S Gujral, DIG, CRPF was provide at the occasion. Minister Santosh Lad met Manjunath's members of the family. MP Pralhad Joshi additionally consoled the members of the family. Earlier, the frame was kept for public view on the RN Shetty Stadium here.


Manjunath was the second one son of Shivalingappa and Ratnavva. He is survived by his wife, kids Ganesh and Lakshmi. Manjunath joined the CRPF in 2005. He was martyred in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra on Sunday night time.
