KANPUR DEHAT: Kanpur Dehat district recorded a high voter turnout of 73.5% in elections to 2 Nagar Palika Parishads — Jhinjhak and Pukhrayan on Wednesday.


A complete of 908 contestants were within the fray.


Among them used to be President Ramnath Kovind's daughter-in-law Deepa Kovind. After being denied price tag by way of the BJP for chairperson's publish in Jhinjhak nagar palika parishad, Deepa entered the fray as an independent. Instead, BJP gave price tag to Sarojni Devi.
