GURUGRAM: A 42-year-old one that had booked an Ola cab on Friday got a driving force arrested after his relative was once discovered to be filling in for him and the passenger checked for the licence, which was once discovered to be pretend.
Mikul Bhatia, a resident of Sector 33, had booked the cab on Friday morning. The app discussed the title of the driver as Munfed. When the car — a Suzuki DZire — arrived, Bhatia discovered the driver's face no longer matching the image given at the Ola app.
Suspecting that the driver could be underage, Bhatia requested for his licence. The driving force discussed his title as Farid and produced a licence that was once issued in the title of Munfed in 2007.
"I was surprised to see an underage driver. When I saw the licence, which bore the registration of RTA, Nuh, and the cab aggregator's name on it, I called up police," Bhatia stated.
Munfed, who was once called to the police station, stated his age was once 22. This intended that the licence in his title had been issued when he was once 13. When the police contacted the RTO in Nuh, it denied having issued this kind of licence.
While Munfed was once arrested under sections 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of treasured safety), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), Farid was once fined for underage riding. The automobile was once impounded.
Munfed reportedly informed the police that as he was once busy, Farid had taken out the car to pick up Bhatia.
Told about the arrest, an Ola spokesperson stated: "We take such issues very seriously. We have offloaded the driver from our platform."
