NEW DELHI: Indian Naval Sailing Vessel (INSV) Tarini entered Port Stanley, the capital of the Falkland Islands, early on Monday morning, to a heat welcome, after combating surging waves and downpours alongside the way.

The Falkland Islands, an archipalego within the South Atlantic Ocean, are a 'British Overseas Territory'.
The expedition is being covered in five legs, with stop-overs at four ports, together with Fremantle in Australia and Lyttleton in New Zealand. After the stopover in Port Stanley, the vessel will head to Cape Town in South Africa.
INSV Tarini is skippered by means of lieutenant commander Vartika Joshi. The all-woman team contains lieutenant commanders Pratibha Jamwal, P Swathi, and lieutenants S Vijaya Devi, Aishwarya Boddapati and Payal Gupta.
The vessel is on a circumnavigation adventure of 22,100-nautical miles, and will return to Goa in April 2018, upon of entirety of the voyage.
The expedition, 'Navika Sagar Parikrama', resonates with India's challenge to empower girls and exhibit 'Nari Shakti'.
Last week, INSV Tarini crossed Cape Horn+ , its designated point, within the face of "rough" seas and robust winds "gusting to ~70kmph."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken to Twitter to congratulate the team.
Earlier this month, a video confirmed the team fighting inclement climate stipulations on find out how to the Falkland Islands. The clip dated January eight confirmed the six officials navigating uneven waves in a raging storm.
