BHUBANESWAR: Amid the furore over inconsistencies in forensic assessments of Kunduli rape survivor, who dedicated suicide on January 22, the state Crime Branch on Wednesday mentioned the samples, which have been earlier tested at state forensic science laboratory (SFSL), would go through re-examination at Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Kolkata.
"We have obtained permission from the concerned court in Koraput district and sent the exhibits (girl's clothes having stains) to the CFSL for re-test. Our move followed a direction from the director general of police to ensure transparency and fairness in the investigation," further director normal of police (Crime Branch) Santosh Upadhyay told TOI.
