Pakistan violates ceasefire in Uri sector

SRINAGAR: Pakistani troops on Monday violated the ceasefire in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir through opening hearth at Indian posts, defence resources stated.

The resources stated the Pakistani troops fired against Indian positions first within the afternoon, which used to be retaliated through the Indian Army.


After a gap of nearly six hours, the Pakistani troops started recent firing that lasted nearly 30 mins, the resources stated, adding the firing had stopped now.


There used to be no harm reported within the firing up to now, the resources stated.


Earlier within the day, Indian Army spotted some suspicious motion along the LoC in Uri sector and challenged the intruders. The alert jawans opened speculative firing, forcing the intruders to retreat, an army professional stated.
