Govt will protect village industries: Minister

Hubballi: Minister of state for consuming water and sanitation, Ramesh Jigajinagi said that the Union govt is dedicated to safeguard the passion of weavers and has launched Rs 32.28 crore for khadi establishments within the state.
Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the newly built divisional office of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission at Bengeri here on Saturday, Jigajinagi said that the fee has launched 100% of grants. “Of the 42 village industries that gained the price range within the state, 17 are primarily based out of Hubballi department,” he said.

The minister said that it used to be a three-decade outdated demand for the setting up of the divisional office. “Karnataka produced Khadi products price Rs 135 crore and of them products price Rs 109 crore have been sold. A complete of 21,000 other people got transient jobs,” he said.


Leader of opposition Jagadish Shettar said that the cotton grown within the state is of superior quality. “Thousands of other people will get pleasure from the village industries,” he added.


Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi known as upon youths to supply khadi products.


“The fee supplies subsidy as much as 35%, which is to the song of Rs 25 lakh, for setting up of khadi and village trade. The fee also supplies monetary help to other village industries comparable to beekeeping,” he said. Karnataka State Khadi and Village Industry Board chairman Yaluvahalli N Ramesh said that Rs 10 lakh of subsidy is being given by means of the state govt for the setting up of khadi and village industries. “People of the area must make use of the scheme,” he added.
