Dibrugarh: Plantation staff of all the 685 registered tea gardens in the Brahmaputra valley will cross on a day-long strike on February 27 in protest in opposition to the delay in the salary revision procedure, the Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS) on Saturday mentioned.
Addressing a press convention, ACMS president and previous Union minister Paban Singh Ghatowar mentioned the labour union has been compelled to take the step for the reason that state govt has failed to fix the minimal day-to-day salary of labourers. The last salary settlement expired on December 31 and the new settlement used to be intended to take impact from January 1.
